Cross Walk - Carbondale, IL

I had a great time walking The Cross downtown around the strip tonight. As I passed by the restaurants, bars and various shops, I noticed the reflection of The Cross in the glass. Then, when I looked down in front of me, I could see the shadow of The Cross on the ground. Everywhere I looked the symbol of The Cross was visible, and that made me smile. It reminded me that The Cross can meet us anywhere. Wherever we are in life, Jesus is there for us.

I ended my walk passing by the Carbondale Memorial Hospital. I thought of the people inside and all the different situations they were facing. Maybe some of them will see The Cross and be encouraged I thought. Right then I noticed a young woman in a hospital gown watching me from her room on the 2nd story. I imagined The Cross giving her just what she needed in that moment. After all, wouldn’t that be just like God?!

We never know where life will take us, but I’m fully convinced that whatever situation we find ourselves in, Jesus is there ready to give us exactly what we need!
