Cross Walk - Carbondale, IL

“Had a Great Night Walking the Cross and Making a New Friend!”

This was the first entry made after walking the Cross. It was our fourth time to walk and our first time to have a real encounter with someone. We crossed paths with a gentleman carrying a case of beer on his way home and paused to talk with him. We were walking in the same direction and offered to carry his package in the cart that was carrying the Cross. He was grateful to receive the help and we walked together for the next 15 minutes, talking about life, work and the Cross.

After walking that night and thinking about what had taken place in the days that followed, I knew that this was the first of many encounters while Walking the Cross!
