Hi, my name is Darren.
I was raised in church, but as a lot of young men, I strayed and did my own thing. The Lord took His time with me and I accepted Him as my savior on September 17, 1984. I still wandered around for many years, but He was faithful and patient with me.
Yes, and there were many times that I can look back and see how He protected me when the choices I made should’ve produced death or injury. My wife says that I should write a book on how many times I should be dead or crippled, but I came through most of them without a scratch only because of Him.
As I look back on my life, there is not one specific instance where I see that the Lord did a particular thing to wake me up to recognize what He was doing for me. It was all the little things in life that He took me through, along the way. The ebbs and flows of life, peaks and valleys (most of the valleys were of my own doing) are difficult to navigate on your own. It was not until I realized that He was walking with me, that I was able to get through those valleys with the hope and understanding that He has already worked these things out.
Whoever might be going through a difficult time in their life and reading this, just remember you’re not alone. It’s in the tough times when He carries us. Always remember, when you walk with Him; His provision, protection, and peace (His shalom) are with you.
May God bless you this day.
